What is it about?
The article describes the experience of author living with cancer and the dreams that occurred during that journey. It explores how cancer affected not only the body but also emotions, identity, relationships, spirituality, and thoughts about the future. The dreams are presented as meaningful personal experiences that sometimes reflected fear, uncertainty, loss, hope, and adjustment. By sharing these experiences, the article highlights the importance of listening to the inner and emotional experiences of people living with cancer, alongside their physical treatment.

Why is it important?
What makes my work unique and timely is that it is based on lived experience. It looks beyond the physical experience of cancer. Much cancer research focuses on symptoms, treatment, or quality of life. This work looks at the inner experience of living with cancer, how illness is experienced emotionally and psychologically. And secondly, it uses dreams as a window into the illness experience. Along with this, the research article also brings culture and spirituality into the discussion. The interpretation of illness and dreams does not occur in a cultural vacuum. The discussion part includes the Pakistani and Islamic context, where dreams, prayer, family, spirituality, and ideas about illness may influence how a person understands what they are going through.
Perspectives
This publication is deeply personal to me because it emerged from my own experience of living with cancer. Writing this research article therefore became more than an academic exercise. It was a way of making sense of an experience that had profoundly changed my life. I hope this publication encourages researchers and healthcare professionals to listen not only to patients' symptoms and medical reports but also to their stories, emotions, dreams, fears, hopes, and personal meanings. Every cancer experience is different, and understanding the person behind the illness is an important part of compassionate care.
