What is it about?
This introduction to the special issue on emotional intelligence (EI) in the workplace offers consulting psychologists practical guidance by attempting to clarify the conceptual foundations, measurement approaches, and applied value of EI in organizational contexts. Why is it important?
This article, and the special issue that it introduces, seek to highlight current issues within the area of applied emotional intelligence. Providing consulting psychologists with an up-to-date overview of key aspects, including issues related to the definition of emotional intelligence, measurement, and applied examples of interventions and research related to emotional intelligence.
Perspectives
Writing the introduction and co-editing the special issue provided a unique opportunity to work with some of the key thought leaders in the area of emotional intelligence.
