Why is it important?

More women are serving as leaders in organizations, in politics, and in our communities and society at large. However, they still are underrepresented and have less access to information, resources, and training to support their promotion and retention in senior leadership roles. We summarize themes that can help consulting psychologists improve their work in this area: evolving terminology, emerging trends, and training needs.

Perspectives

In this special section of Consulting Psychology Journal, we present three unique papers that bring knowledge from multiple disciplines to help us understand this topic from different perspectives, industries, and intersecting identities for women. As noted in Brancu & Hayes (2020), in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion within consulting psychology, authors often bring a personal perspective, not just a professional one.
