What is it about?
In this paper, we tried two nudging interventions to increase hand washing in the shopping street during COVID-19. We used a gain-frame nudge and a salience nudge. For the gain-frame, we stressed that washing hands would reduce the chance of becoming ill. For the salience nudge, we put floor-level arrows towards the hand desinfection stand. Both interventions raised hand washing, but not to statistical significance.

Why is it important?
Hand hygiene is one of the main ways we can combat the spread of COVID-19, and finding ways to increase hand washing with the general public is therefore vital in preventing the disease from spreading.
