What is it about?
Constraints are viewed as barriers to a creative problem. This study explores how these limitations influence creativity. Specifically, we explore the timing of when to introduce these constraints and the quantity of constraints to best influence creative outcomes.

Why is it important?
Creative tasks are inherently bound by some restrictions (i.e., constraints). It is essential we understand how to best navigate these barriers when trying to optimize creative efforts. Given creativity is one of the most valued skills for organizations it is important to unpack the black box of what happens during creative problem solving.
Perspectives
Our aim with this article is to advance an area of research less explored within creativity. It was a fantastic opportunity to examine a less traveled path for creativity research. The efforts in this article have been used to aid organization practices on large scale endeavors.
