What is it about?

The Cultural Trauma Scale (CuTS) was developed to measure different aspects of cultural trauma with Black American men. The study evaluates the extent to which the CuTS items represent underlying concepts and the internal reliability of each concept.

Why is it important?

The study is important because it provides evidence of the extent to which the Cultural Trauma Scale measures the concepts that it purports to measure. The study is also important because there is limited measurement research to evaluate cultural trauma in Black men, despite the fact the Black men disproportionately experience cultural trauma.

Given the relevant, yet sometimes neglected concepts the scale measures, the authors are very much looking forward to publishing future studies using the Cultural Trauma Scale.
