What is it about?

Frailty is a risk factor for disease and death in older adults. This study examined whether spirituality has a beneficial effect that would reduce the negative impact of stress and depression (two measures of quality of life) on physical frailty.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that spirituality appears to be beneficial to older adults because it decreases the negative impact of depression and stress on physical frailty. Spirituality may therefore help older adults maintain a more robust state of health.

Perspectives

It was a joy working with my co-authors in writing this publication. At the time of writing, our paper was one of two publications in this area. It is my hope that this paper inspires others to examine areas they are interested in and forge a path for others to build upon.
