What is it about?

This paper is about a way to make participants in our studies more likely to complete surveys. Our method involves creating a game (or "gamifying") our data collection app where participants have to find an emoji hidden in the survey questions. We found that adding this game to our study made participants more likely to answer surveys.

Why is it important?

It is a challenge to get participants to complete surveys, especially when we ask many questions throughout the day. When we don't have sufficient surveys getting completed, it means we may not get a full picture of what we're trying to study. This game helps us get more info and get a more complete picture.
