Examining if optimism remains intact among institutionalized older people is clinically useful, as it may function as an intrapersonal resistance factor responsive to intervention.

Perspectives

Doing this study and writing this paper was an opportunity to move away from mental illness and focus on positive psychological processes that can promote mental health.
