What is it about?

This study was undertaken to identify cacao types, conserved at the International Cocoa Genebank in Trinidad, which combined resistance to Black Pod disease, a serious biotic threat in many cocoa-growing countries with good yield potential.

Cacao genotypes of high potential value for cacao breeding were identified and their inclusion in working and core collections would be justified.
