What is it about?

Based on ethnographic fieldwork we analyse how parents and preschool teachers interact in order to ensure that children are getting ready for school. Preschool teachers guide parents as to make them understand and support the educational goals in preschool. Parents are given advice on how to cultivate and support children's development at home. Parents to a large degree willingly accept such advice, motivated by a strong risk awareness, embedded in diagnostic forms, thus giving preschool teachers authority as parenting experts.
