Why is it important?

Family poultry, the indigenous (desi) chicken has got special preference of the consumers in Bangladesh. They are mostly grown on natural scavenging feed resources with some home-made or home-grown supplementation. Produced at rural households, they taste better, possess good aroma and are suitable for preparing special dishes and free of antibiotic residues.

Perspectives

In this article, I have been able to focus my own ideas on family poultry internationally so that people interested in may contribute further for development. The indigenous family poultry are now receiving attention from different corners and development partners which have made me happy.
