Therefore many investors of textile industry has been shifted their investment in poultry meat market due to severe crisis in textile business. The demand and supply gap in Pakistan is about 4.1% and per capita availability of chicken meat, beef, and mutton and overall is 4.33, 9.66, 3.47 and 17.46 kg, respectively. The annual growth rate of beef, meat and chicken meat is 3.2, 2.1and 7.8 %, respectively. At present, Pakistan is exporting about 13.95 million US $ live animals and growth rate of meat export is 56% (Economic Survey, 2010-11). The fast growing population, urbanization and changing eating habits of peoples are creating the chance of development of poultry meat industry on scientific basis. Demand of value added meat products and export of Halal meat are also another opportunities for meat producers in Pakistan. Recently, World Health Organization also declared the country free of bird flu. In near future fast growing meat industry of Pakistan will be export the Halal meat in handsome amount to other Islamic countries, particularly in Gulf countries.

Perspectives

As co-author suggest the fresh slaughtering at shop with small processing plant initially to change the mind sets of consumers for adopting the frozen poultry meat in Pakistan. This model with different pattern exists in meat markets of large cities. This indicates that only a single man slaughters the Halal chicken but other process will be complete through a processing plant at shop in front of consumers for their satisfaction.
