What is it about?

We know continuity of midwifery care improves outcomes for mothers and babies compared with other models of care. We wanted to know if women also perceived benefit from having a student midwife provide continuity of care. Women valued continuity of midwifery care and were able to form meaningful relationships with their midwifery student. Programs leading to registration as a midwife should privilege continuity of care experiences.
