What is it about?
Various nicotinic AchRs are expressed in neuronal cells. In this study, we explored to elucidate the molecular relationship between alpha7 nicotinic AchR and neurotrophic factor-receptor of Trk tyrosine kinase. Intriguingly, we found the direct interaction of Trk and alpha7 nicotinic AchR when AchR is activated by ligand-binding. This direct interaction augments NGF-induced Trk autophosphorylation response in PC12 cells.
