What is it about?

The aim is to develop a probabilistic rusk assessment approach based on artificial intelligence and machine learning fed by existing information. The target is systemic repeated dose toxicity assessment.

Why is it important?

Animal models have been used for decades both in biomedical research and toxicity testing. There is however increasing evidence that animals do not reflect what can be expected to happen in humans. Futhermore, the use of animals to assess toxicity is no longer accepted by the wider public. Thus, new approaches have to be pursuit.

Perspectives

This publication reflects the vision as well as both strategy and deliverables that should lead to a new more accurate and animal-free toxicity assessment.
