What is it about?

Intangible resources, including relational assets, are pivotal for developing the static and dynamic capabilities of exporting firms. The ability to plan and execute exports is critical for an organization's international orientation. Greater international entrepreneurial orientation –IEO- boosts strategic flexibility and facilitates genuine export market orientation –EMO-. IEO and EMO are pivotal dynamic capabilities for gaining competitive advantages in global markets.

Why is it important?

Because the study fills the existing research gap in the knowledge of the interrelationships between relational resources, the static capabilities associated with the planning and organization of export activity, certain dynamic capabilities—international entrepreneurial orientation, orientation to foreign markets and strategic flexibility—and the achievement of perceived competitive advantages in international markets.

Perspectives

This study underscores the key of relational resources, export planning, and dynamic capabilities in achieving competitive advantages in international markets. This is great for academics as well as for practicioners. The findings emphasize the need for effective planning to develop dynamic capabilities and highlight the relevance of entrepreneurial orientation, foreign market orientation, and strategic flexibility. It was a pleasure finding management implications that underscore the importance of building relationships, effective export planning, and cultivating dynamic capabilities to enhance global competitiveness.
