What is it about?
Rare-earth MOF are ideal candidates for luminescent sensors. In this article, we synthesized a Tb-succinate MOF thin film via facile electro-chemical deposition. This MOF thin film can directly sensing 0.0001 M Cu2+ in water via naked-eyes observation with the help of a portable UV-lighter.

Why is it important?
Most of the reported Rare-earth MOF luminescent materials are unstable in water due to the nature of their coordinators. While the structure of succinate are relatively simple thus the Tb-succinate MOF thin film can stand over 30min in water(enough to detect Cu2+ via luminescent dimming).
