Why is it important?
The aim of this work was to evaluate the antifungal and cytotoxic activities of the ethanolic extract (EE) and fractions of I. laurina barks and identify the phenolic compounds in the samples by HPLC-ESI(–)-MS/MS and 1H/13C NMR techniques.
Perspectives
The chemical study of the plant bark showed that this species is rich in phenolic compounds and it has great potential for the discovery of new bioactive compounds.
