What is it about?

In the UK there are particular years when there are unexpected increases in both deaths and medical admissions. A common cluster of medical conditions (diagnoses) were associated with these increases. The pattern is suggestive of inflammation and infection.

Why is it important?

A common pattern of diagnoses implies a common agent, which has yet to be identified.

Perspectives

Anything capable of causing patterns of death and admission needs to be investigated, see further studies at http://www.hcaf.biz/2010/Publications_Full.pdf
