What is it about?

In this work, we present an enhanced Design for a Motorcycle helmet that would turn the helmet into the following: a wireless Bluetooth headset connected to the rider's phone as well as the Pillion's helmet, allowing the rider to use his phone wirelessly (answer calls, listen to music, etc.) and interact directly with the Pillion without having to shout or turn head (so the other rider can hear). Note: the Pillion is the passenger riding on the back seat of a motorcycle.

Why is it important?

Research shows that some of the leading reasons for motorcycle accidents and deaths are distractions from phones and conversations with the Pillion (the passenger riding on the back seat of a motorcycle). This work addresses that issue by redesigning the helmet to reduce these distractions.

Perspectives
