We review the necessary framework for implementing dry eye services using teleconsultation and telemonitoring

Why is it important?
With the COVID-19 Pandemic, it is difficult to manage in person consultations for the bulk of dry eye patients. Up to a third of adult people in the population suffers from dry eye. However, specialised eye care can only look after a small percentage of these people.
Perspectives
Healthcare services are stretched during the pandemic. Telecare services can help to provide care for the bulk of dry eye patients who are stable.
