What is it about?
Multiscale numerical simulations of complex fluids are carried out to predict nonlinear velocity and stress fluctuations in complex fluids confined between parallel plates under simple shear flow.

Why is it important?
The FENE transient network model provides a predictive framework for analysing flow instabilities in polymeric and micellar systems.
Perspectives
This model incotrporates a microstructural kinetic mechanism of bond breaking and recombination, whcih induces nonlinearities in the velocity field.
