What is it about?

This paper aims to investigate the linearity of the relationship between residents’ perceptions of and support for the development of tourism. The links between residents’ support for the development of tourism and their perceptions have been investigated across a large number of studies, most of which assume a linear path. The current study found that a non-linear algorithm exists between residents’ negative perceptions and their support for tourism development, which in some cases could increase the effectiveness of the existing model.
