What is it about?

This study examines the influence of encyclicals and other writings across three different papacies (John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis) on local religiosity and female representations. This study finds that local religiosity and female representation on the Board are positively related with firms' corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. We also find that CEO personal religiosity is positively related with CSR performance.
