Fake online reviews are not always more exaggerated than those that are authentic.

Why is it important?

This paper busts the myth that fake reviews are always more exaggerated than authentic ones. This new and counter-intuitive finding suggests that we should not solely rely on the conventional wisdom of avoiding reviews that appear too good/bad to be true while browsing websites such as TripAdvisor.
