What is it about?

A system to predict a user’s destination when beginning a new trip based on the generation of a "support-map" from the past GPS log and a Hidden Markov Model.

Why is it important?

It uses a personal map from previous locations achieving a total independence from street-map databases.

Perspectives

I am proud of this article because we managed to explain in a simple way how at a time when Google Now did not exist we managed to get decent results in predicting final destinations with an original approach.
