Why is it important?

The periods of higher deaths and medical admissions have been proposed to occur during the spread of an immune impairing agent. If this is the case then admissions for some conditions should also decrease. A similar situation occurs during the immune changes in pregnancy.

Perspectives

The government has been accusing the NHS of inefficiency leading to higher medical admissions. The actual data appears to contradict this claim. Part of a longer series of studies available at http://www.hcaf.biz/2010/Publications_Full.pdf
