A brief review on mobile apps for chemistry and their implications for drug discovery. We describe some of the apps available for chemistry in 2011 and the idea of app workflows.

Why is it important?
This review was well ahead of the curve in bringing up how we could use apps and mobile devices for drug discovery. It is still highly relevant and we have followed this up with development of apps and workflows which go into more detail. This is a high level view of the field as we saw it evolving.
