Why is it important?
The method allows the physical and mechanical properties of mail artefacts tobe reconstructed, which otherwise remain hidden, by performing tests in a virtual environment.
Perspectives
The approach applied in this study for measuring physical andmechanical properties of mail can also be used to test other armourtypes, such as scale, lamellar, brigantine, and plate armour.
