Are reviews submitted by reputed reviewers more effective than those contributed by novices?

What is it about?

If reviews submitted by reputed reviewers are always more effective than those contributed by novices, the former would continue to garner helpful votes while the latter would remain overlooked forever. In consequence, the barrier to entry in the online reviewer community would be high. Is it really so? This paper tries to find out!

Why is it important?

As an extension to related research, this paper conceptualizes review efficacy as not only helpfulness but also readership of reviews.
