Perspectives

The recent investigations recommend that the link between Adipose-derived stem cells, chondrocytes, and growth factors is a key item that might be beneficial in cartilage repair and tissue engineering. Nonetheless, their capability for cartilage regeneration and exact functional mechanisms of that are still not crystal clear, and several other features like the epigenetic modifications need to be explained in more details. As a result, these regulatory mechanisms must be well understood to shed the light into many ambiguities in the mesenchymal stem cell differentiation processes.
