What is it about?
Highlights We analyze if ownership concentration influences foreign bank participation in a loan syndicate. We investigate this issue for China. Greater ownership concentration of the borrowing firm does not positively influence participation of foreign banks in the loan syndicate. Information asymmetries are not exacerbated for foreign banks relative to local banks in China.
