Why is it important?
Nowadays, optimization is considered a key goal in the analysis of any engineering problem, as complexity of these problems and the economic urgency of achieving optimum simultaneously increase. Two main categories of objectives are to be considered: minimizing, such as the cost, energy consumption, time, and maximizing, such as reliability and profit.
