Why is it important?

We reported in this study that most nursing students are familiar with the steps of nursing research, thus allowing them to conduct their individual research projects effectively. A significant link between marks obtained in nursing research courses and nursing research competency. This shows the nursing students' intellectual understanding of the nursing research process. Marks obtained in nursing research course is a strong indicator of nursing research competence. This implies that nursing research requires a greater degree of cognition and higher levels of thinking.

Perspectives

Participants’ marks obtained in the nursing research course were the only demographic profile in our study, which indicated a direct correlation with nursing research competency. This refers to the fact that a higher score obtained in Nursing Research courses equates to greater nursing research competence scores. Additionally, our study found that having a higher score obtained in Nursing Research course meant having higher competencies in a nursing research course, which is three times more knowledgeable than having a lower score obtained in the nursing research course.
