What is it about?

This study attempted to solve the LFC problem in a restructured multi-area power system, taking into account the technical aspects of the thermal and hydroelectric turbines, using the AC and the HVDC transmission lines, and especially focusing on the LQR-KF controller together.

Our findings show that the introduced control method led to the improved LFC performance in a multi-area power system with HVDC transmission links.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as the introduced controller was studied with and without the HVDC transmission line, which was found to have a positive effect on the dynamic performance of the system.
