What is it about?
Amorphous SiOC matrix or nano SiC can be derived from polymeric precursor called polycarbosilane.

Why is it important?
We have been able to synthesize the high ceramic yield polycarbosilane without using the autoclave. The polymer to ceramic conversion yield was found to be 85 wt.%.
Perspectives
Our work in this paper demonstrates the economically viable and technically efficient synthesis of polycarbosilane precursor. It was synthesized without using autoclave.
