What is it about?

Over decades, we have seen a change in the causes of hypercalcemia as well as changes in the pattern of hypercalcemia. For example, now we see minimally symptomatic primary hyperparathyroidism these days, whereas in previous decades we used to see severe debilitating cases of primary hyperparathyroidism. We also see new types of hypercalcemia like Vitamin D toxicosis, etc. This article gives an overview about the changing pattern of hypercalcemia in hospital populations.
