What is it about?

This article demonstrates the vulnerability of remote oceanic islands to non-indigenous species. Oceanic islands are generally poor in species, exhibit simpler trophic webs and have a lower functional diversity than similar mainland ecosystems. This study is focused on macroalgae species and contrasts the presence of non-indigenous macroalgae at a global scale with the one at archipelago scale.
