What is it about?

This study aims to evaluate the intensity and duration of drought based on the SPI and RDI using data from selected hydrometeorological stations in the Qinhuai River Basin, China. Both SPI and SDI were calculated for time scales of 3, 6, and 12 months for each hydrological year and decile every year from 1983 to 2016. In previous studies, various parametric and non-parametr (PDF) Estimation of a trend of meteorological and hydrological drought over Qinhuai River Basin. Why is it important?

This study will facilitate the development of strategies for adequate water resource management to mitigate the adverse impacts of drought in the region. There are many challenges in the future due to changing climate and socioeconomic conditions, which might impact agricultural production and ultimately on the food security of the region. Therefore, more studies are needed with new techniques to address this issue. (PDF) Estimation of a trend of meteorological and hydrological drought over Qinhuai River Basin.
