What is it about?
We analyze the reports on convective systems published by the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) applying the criteria defined by Maddox (1982) and Augustin and Howard (1991). Among other parameters, we determine their eccentricity, origin and dissipation. Finally, we determine the synoptic pattern related to each one of the convective systems.

It was a pioneering study in Europe that demonstrated that MCC and MCS could also be found in Europe, particularly in Spain.
