What is it about?

The book both discusses assessment in CLIL from the theoretical and conceptual angles with reference to integration of content and language and proves a number of practical approaches and activities for CLIL educators to adapt and adopt in their practices.

Why is it important?

The inspiration to work on the book was the apparent lack of research and discussions on assessment in CLIL. The edited volume brought together researchers and educators in CLIL from Finland, Japan, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, and the UK. While we all discuss (very) different educational contexts, what unites us is the understanding the purpose of assessment (in CLIL)--to promote learning. We also call of collaboration among CLIL educators and that between researchers and teachers.
