What is it about?

Parasites are everywhere and, in general, are no good for hosts. We found that when insect females harbour a large number of intestinal parasites tend to live less and be less choosy with males, selecting unattractive partners. Thus, parasites can affect female preferences

Why is it important?

We assume that females will always prefer the most attractive males. Our results indicate that unattractive males may be successful and this is explained by the bad condition of females

Perspectives

There has been many theoretical studies supporting what I have published but our study provide support from an animal that experiences real natural conditions
