What is it about?

Adhesions are the most frequent complications in abdominal and pelvic surgery. It seems important for surgeons to detect patients with high risk of adhesions. We test an ultrasound technique to predict adhesions before surgery. The patient can then be referred to a multidisciplinary center of surgery when severe adhesions are suspected. By this technique patients can be informed of the risks of the surgery but also of the possibility of the application of antiadhesive agents.
