Why is it important?

the study provides new insight into and experience of the hydrological applicability of the high spatiotemporal resolution satellite–gauge rainfall product for driving a distributed hydrological model at a daily resolution.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long-standing collaborations. This article also leads to evaluate the accuracy of the latest high-resolution hourly merged satellite–station precipitation product against rain gauge measurement at a mid-range-sized basin. Second, with the assistance of a physically-based distributed hydrological model, Liuxihe (LXH), how the differences in precipitation product are propagated in daily streamflow simulation was identified.
