What is it about?

Journal peer reviewers have many pressures on their time, meaning that peer review can take a very long time. Using evidence from one journal, this article explores why reviewers decline to review and suggests some solutions.

Why is it important?

There is very little published research, especially in recent years, investigating why peer reviewers decoupling e to review. This question has implications for improving the pool of available peer reviewers, leading to faster time to publish research.
