What is it about?

We describe a method for the detection of DNA that uses bioactive cellulose microparticles. When targets are present, the microparticles change color from white to red.

Why is it important?

The article is relevant for all those who work on, or who are interested in, the development of rapid diagnostics for the detection of nucleic acids, proteins and other analytes

Perspectives

Celulose microparticles are an alternative matrix format that can contribute to overcome some of the limitations of traditional cellulose matrices used in lateral flow assays.
