What is it about?

This is an application of generalised linear models to fitting gamma curves to grouped data. The method uses only standard linear algebra and can be simply programmed independently of complex external packages within any programming environment.

Why is it important?

Drawing from standard modern statistical practice this article solves an old problem in atmospheric science, rather elegantly. Not quiet a closed form but just a few elementary iterations give the required gamma parameters.

Perspectives

I like innovative practical solutions like this.
