What is it about?

Lentil has a big complicated genome filled with repetitive elements. Finding variation in the coding portion of the genome makes interpreting diversity studies more feasible. We have built an exome capture array to do just this.

Why is it important?

In lentil it is possible to use related species for disease resistance and other useful traits like drought tolerance in the breeding programs. Harnessing diversity is most effective when paired with an understanding of the available genetic variation. Our exome capture tool makes this possible.
