Why is it important?

The superiority of the presented fusion method is two folds. The first is that the method takes the uncertainties of the AOD data sets being used into estimation. the second is that the spatio-temporal process modeling method based on the Bayesian Maximum Entropy (BME) was developed to produce spatio-temporally complete AOD data sets.

Perspectives

The method presented in this paper is potential for producing complete daily global satellite AOD products. It could be used to fuse other satellite products of geophysical varaibles
